A collaboration between Brands for Good and Carbon Care Asia (CCA), the Brands for Good CarbonCare^® Label was first introduced to Singapore in 2019. Similar to its sister scheme CarbonCare^® Label in Hong Kong, the Brands for Good CarbonCare^® Label encourages and recognises the efforts of businesses in their actions to tackle climate change by measuring and reducing their greenhouse gas emissions.

In 2019, the Label attracted considerable interest from both listed companies and SMEs. Two entities, Amozonia Pte Ltd and Kowabunga! Global Pte Ltd, were awarded the Brands for Good CarbonCare^® Label 2019 for taking steps to understand and measure their carbon footprint.

In light of the Covid-19 pandemic, we are extending a 50% discount off the application fee for the Brands for Good CarbonCare^® Label 2020.

1. Apply: Entity submits an application for the Brands for Good CarbonCare^® Label.
2. Context Setting: CCA works closely with the entity to determine the reporting boundary, which will inform CCA’s design of a custom-made data collection template.
3. Calculation: The entity fills in the data collection template with the requisite data and submits the completed template to CCA. CCA then calculates the entity’s carbon footprint and provides carbon reduction recommendations.
4. Reduction (applicable to Action and Champion applicants only): The entity implements at least one carbon reduction measure.
5. Verification (applicable to Champion applicants only): An independent team from CCA will verify the entity’s carbon reduction efforts.
6. Award: The Brands for Good CarbonCare^® Labels is awarded at the Brands for Good 2020 award ceremony in December.

The cost of the application fee depends on an entity’s annual revenue. In light of the Covid-19 pandemic, we will be extending a 50% discount to all applicants.

Please note that the application fees exclude the cost of engaging CCA’s services to conduct the carbon audit and verification (if needed). These will be quoted separately depending on the scope of the reporting boundary.

Launched in 2018, Brands for Good is an NGO that aims to recognise businesses that not only make a difference but also commit to be stewards for positive impact. The Brands for Good award ceremony in 2019 saw 43 SMEs from Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia and Hong Kong winning a total of 59 Brands for Good awards across 4 main categories: Workplace, Community, Environment and Patents.

All entities are eligible to apply for the Brands for Good CarbonCare^® Label, including: listed or private companies, non-profit or –government organisations, public agencies, buildings, venues, etc.
